WOW!
What an opportunity - to interview Adrian Belew!
Thank you so very much for sharing this little insight into Ade with us all : )
what I wouldn't give to be able to sit down with Ade one-on-one with a coffee, and exchange some thoughts and ideas with this absolutely amazing human-being.....
I thought your questions were great - especially where you talked about inspiration.....and your life coming full-circle to where you wanted to be all along : )
I am just so over the moon for Ade, that he has finally found his 'Power Trio'.....he has tried for so very long to find that -not so simple- combination.

cont....

And what a combination he has found - two brilliant players who share the same passion for music as Adrian does.... And what magic they have created!
I certainly believe that Ade fully deserves the joy and pleasure he is now enjoying - finally some recognition for all these years of blood, sweat and tears that went into creating this exemplary body of music that he has given to us over the past 35 years......
This is the reason that I put together my petition to Induct Adrian Belew into the R & R Hall of Fame - recognition for excellence in music, in so many areas, over so many years.... HERE is the link.....
If you haven't already done so, please check it out, and add your voice to the 650 or so others who feel the way that I do....and lets give Adrian the recognition he so fully deserves : )
Excellent interview.....concert review, and photo's too..... Keep up the great work my friend : )

Thank you so, so much for your comments and support Wendy. Being part of the "Adrian Family" is a wonderful thing. Your excitement and commitment to perpetuating his legacy is contagious and I will continue to share what bits and pieces I have. Yeah, meeting and talking to him has been a life changing experience for me. I came so close to not going to that concert back in 2006. God really wanted me there.

Blessings to you...

Hi !!!

Looking for music last night I typed King Crimson and found your page...

Thanks for letting me in. I went around and had a look. Interesting...

Seem you're an AB fan... As far as I am concerned, I rarely get interested in one person only, more in bands...

So I saw what was in your playlist and liked it but I wonder if other things haven't eluded you...

Do you know the following?

Henry Cow

Art Bears

Art Zoyd

Univers Zero

Present

Magma

Fred Frith

Lyndsay Cooper

Soft Machine

Gong

Peter Hamil

Van der Graff Generator

Klaus Schulze

Cassiber

This Heat

Charles Hayward

Camberwell now

The Art ensemble of Chigago

Don Chery

Jon Hassle

Albert Marcoeur

Derek Bailey

It's just as a matter of interest, to see if you know, as these are mostly europeans and not espcially popular, but very interesting indeed...

As for Discipline, the KC record, I'd definitely take it to a desert Island if I had to spend the rest of my life there, probably along with Yes "Close to th edge" and "Relayer" but some others from Henry Cow, Art Bears, Art Zoyd, Univers Zero, Magma, and Fred Frith would definitely be one of my favorites...

Friendly yours

Hi TDU630!

Thanks for the great comment and play list. I know of several of those artists but most of them I have never heard of before! So, wonderful!! I am happy to have some more prog-rock masters to explore and investigate. Thanks so much for stopping by!!

Will you be able to dig them out on the web?

As far as I am concerned, I don't download, and I more or less stayed to Vinyl time, which makes it difficult for me to share stuff.

However, you'll find quite a lot of it on "My space"

After, you have to find out by looking at musician's names and try and look for bands they played in...

Hereunder is Magma's site

http://www.seventhrecords.com/

The have a Magma web radio on their page... Don(t get frightened by the visual aspect of it, just concentrate on the music...

All isn't good, but it's worth discovering...

I'll try and find out some more pages of other bands if you're interested...

They also have a My space page which links to lots of excellent stuff...

Among my favorites I forgot Robert Wyatt...

Through the bands I told you about on my previous note, I also discovered late 19th and 20th century "Classical contemporary music" that was inspiration source to these bands...

Stravinsky

Bartok

Berg

Webern

Stockhausen

Verese

Satie

Prokofiev

Dussapin

Pendereki

Messiaen

and so many others...

Varese was a great reference to Franck Zappa's work for exemple...

Also Jazz is not in rest,

Archie Shepp

Lester Bowie

Ornette Coleman

Miles Davis

The Art Ensemble Of Chicago

Don Chery

and so many more

Lots of these musics give me "chicken skin" when I listen to it. Some of it is so beautifull, it goes beyond simple music.

Hope I am giving indications you'll like...

Don't hesitate to contact me to let me know

Friendly yours

Thierry (If that's too complicated, Terry will do LOL)

Hello Daryl

Also a great source of discovery: lastfm

I listen to it and still discover lots of things

Have a nice day.

Thierry
